# Map and locations

> Ops map, sites, sub-locations, and site-scoped dispatch.

# Map and locations

**Map** is your live snapshot of sites and work. **Locations** is where you create and edit the places jobs attach to.

## Map

Open **Map** (Operations) for an interactive view of your organisation:

* Search sites, jobs, and crew
* Browse **Locations**, **Jobs**, and **Crew** in the side drawer
* See live GPS markers for workers who are clocked in (when tracking is available)
* Toggle weather and workforce overlays when enabled

Crew on the map groups as on site, off duty, or stale depending on recent location updates.

## Locations list

Open **Locations** to search and manage sites. Create a location with **New location** — set name, type, address / map pin, and optionally link a **customer** for invoicing.

## Location detail

On a location you can:

* **Edit** site details and geometry
* Manage **sub-locations** (zones within the site)
* **Schedule job** or open the site-scoped workflow
* Review linked customer and profitability context when configured

### Sub-locations

Sub-locations are optional zones (shed, bay, floor). Jobs can target a location alone or a specific sub-location so workers and evidence stay place-accurate.

### Site workflow

The Workflow section on location detail offers the same **Board**, **List**, **Calendar**, and **Timeline** views as the org board, scoped to that site. Use **Open dispatch board** to jump to the org board with the location filter applied — see [Jobs and board](/jobs-and-board).

## Tips

* Link sites to [customers](/customers-and-invoices) before multi-site invoicing.
* Keep place labels clear — they appear everywhere workers and managers look.
* Regulated-site or biosecurity gates (when enabled in [Settings](/settings-and-billing)) affect who can be dispatched to a location.
