# Customer portal

> Invite customers to a read-only verification portal for linked sites.

# Customer portal

The **verification portal** gives your customers a read-only view of jobs, compliance evidence, and approved hours at their linked sites — without full operator access.

## Who uses it

* **Operators** invite portal users from a [customer](/customers-and-invoices) record (**Portal access**)
* **Customers** sign in at `/portal` and browse linked sites and jobs

Invitation emails are sent when portal users are created (when email delivery is configured).

## What customers see

On the portal home (**Verification portal**):

* Linked sites and jobs visible counts
* Recent jobs list
* **Download compliance pack** for a date range (when permitted)

On a job (`/portal/jobs/:id`):

* Compliance PDF / evidence when available
* Approved hours (including capture method such as kiosk or supervisor-approved)
* Option to **acknowledge completion** when that flow is enabled

Empty states appear when evidence or execution is still pending.

## Access states

* **Suspended** — portal access suspended for the organisation or user
* **Unavailable** — portal cannot load (configuration or access issue)

## Tips for operators

* Link locations to the customer before inviting portal users
* Keep jobs completed and packs ready so customers are not staring at “pending” empties
* Use portal packs for customer assurance; use the org [Compliance](/compliance-and-exports) hub for regulator-facing exports
